If you believe, reasonably, that red plus near-infrared is all the evidence firmly supports, the PRO1500 delivers it without paying for spectrum you may not use.

The truth about irradiance claims

Every panel brand advertises irradiance (mW/cm2), and almost none of the numbers are comparable. Manufacturers measure with different meters, distances, and methodologies, generally the combination that produces the largest figure. Do red light therapy panels actually do anything?

The evidence base is real but application-specific. For skin, a randomized controlled trial of 136 volunteers (Wunsch and Matuschka, 2014) found measurable increases in collagen density and reduced roughness. For muscle performance and recovery, a systematic review and meta-analysis (Vanin et al., 2018) found photobiomodulation improved muscular performance and reduced fatigue markers in healthy people. Where marketing goes beyond that, sleep, mood, pet arthritis, the evidence is thinner; treat those as plausible bonuses, not proven outcomes.

How many wavelengths do I actually need?

The clinical workhorses are red (630-660 nm) and near-infrared (810-850 nm), which every panel here covers. Extra wavelengths extend the range of use cases: amber (590 nm) has trial data for skin, and deep near-infrared (940-1060 nm) has data in pain and recovery contexts. Can I trust the irradiance numbers brands advertise?

Only directionally.
